Monica Forever.

Single Black Female 3 (2025)

– The situation in Single Black Female becomes insane when Simone, Monica’s new assistant, gradually reveals her obsessive and dangerous nature. At first, Simone appears to be a trustworthy friend, helping Monica in her work and life. But gradually, she begins to imitate Monica’s way of dressing, her style, even her gestures and habits in a terrifying way.

The situation becomes serious when Monica discovers that Simone not only wants to be like her but also wants to replace her completely. Simone secretly invades Monica’s private life, learns all her secrets, and even tries to sabotage Monica’s personal relationships with those around her.

The climax of insanity occurs when Monica discovers Simone’s troubled past: Simone is not just a normal assistant, but also has a history of violence and mental instability. When Simone’s plans are revealed, she becomes more dangerous than ever, willing to do anything to take over Monica’s life, including violence.

The situation is reminiscent of famous psychological thrillers like Single White Female (1992), in which a roommate becomes obsessed with the protagonist, with her actions crossing the line from admiration to the dangerous territory of obsession and possession.

Single Black Female 3 picks up after Monica, who was wrongly convicted of murder, is finally exonerated—but at what cost? “Although the charges against her have been dropped, the stain of doubt remains, and regaining her life, career, and the trust of those around her proves to be an uphill battle,” the film’s official synopsis reads.

“Meanwhile, the real threat is far from gone. Simone (Amber Riley), now a fugitive, has fled to a convent in Mexico, with no choice but to abandon Houston, along with the one thing she truly cares about – her daughter, Joy (Kennedy Chanel),” the synopsis continues. “When a terrifying nightmare shocks her, Simone believes Joy is in danger and returns to Houston, to settle the score with her estranged half-sisters. It’s only a matter of time before old grudges resurface and Monica and Simone come face to face.” – Simone is forced into hiding and abandons Houston for the dangerous and criminal actions she committed in the previous two seasons of Single Black Female. After her plan to take over Monica’s life is exposed, Simone becomes a wanted man with nowhere to go.

Her escape to a convent in Mexico represents her desperation—a place far away from the outside world where she can hide her identity and avoid capture. A convent also represents redemption, but in Simone’s case, it may just be a cover to continue hiding.

Even though she’s left Houston, that doesn’t mean Simone has completely given up on revenge or a comeback. Her obsession with Monica could lead her to unexpectedly return, creating a threat that’s always lurking in the shadows.

Joining Raven Goodwin, Amber Riley, and Kennedy Chanel in Single Black Female 3 are K. Michelle, reprising her role as Monica’s best friend Bebe, and The Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Williams as Detective Ebony Williams.
